Tue, 3rd Nov 2026 06:30 pm
It can take just one idea to change the world For ten years, One Big Idea has showcased UNSW academics, researchers and PhD students and their world-changing epiphanies. This 3 November, One Big Idea celebrates some of our leading experts with an update on how their ideas have taken shape in the real world. From malingering political leaders to magic mushrooms for mental health. From quantum computing powered by light to the role of AI in warfare. From the threats humanity poses to itself, to saving oceans from the brink of extinction. This evening is sure to cover all corners of humanity. Presented by the UNSW Centre for Ideas The UNSW Centre for Ideas sits at the nexus of academia and research, culture and the arts, business and the community and society at large. It’s in the unique position of having access to some of the world’s leading thinkers, provocateurs and UNSW-made entrepreneurs while also attracting big-name talent through its public talks program.
