DOORS 6.00PM // KITCHEN OPENS 6.00PM // SHOW STARTS 8.00PM Julian Barnes once famously described the Booker Prize as "posh bingo" and, while your mileage may vary, it remains the one literary award that consistently inspires reading lists and rampant speculation, not to mention sales. So a week before the 2026 winner is announced, for one night only in the Brunswick Ballroom, Australia's favourite book clubbers invite you to join to thrash out the highs and lows of the six books on this year's shortlist. The End of Everything by M. John Harrison The Disappearers by Marlon James Black Bag by Luke Kennard May We Feed the King by Rebecca Perry The Things We Never Say by Elizabeth Strout John of John by Douglas Stuart ABC bookclub favourites Marieke Hardy and Jason Steger will be joined by celebrated author Tony Birch and host Michael Williams to dissect, disagree and throw the floor open for your bookclub to come and share your views. Pick your favourites, complain about the oversights, and mull over the trends and judges' peccadillos, all over a comradely drink.
