Since leaving Syria ten years ago, Bahaa has worked and volunteered in the refugee sector, dedicating his time to supporting displaced communities and advocating for refugee rights. After six years of navigating the hard reality of refugees in Turkey, he landed in Australia and committed to doing everything in his power to help bring people closer to refugees. His mission is to shift the narrative towards all displaced people.Hoping that one day soon, future generations of displaced people will be welcomed as an opportunity not a threat. Through his advocacy initiative and podcast, Refugee Thoughts, Bahaa shares everyday stories and perspectives to help others better understand the refugee experience. As a stand-up comedian (@hahawithbaha), he brings the refugee experience to unexpected audiences, using humor to break barriers and foster understanding.
