Auslan tour: Nolan: Origins
Sun, 29th Nov 2026 01:30 pm
Join us for an Auslan tour of Nolan: Origins and explore the landscapes and stories that transformed Australian art. Bringing together over 150 major works from Sidney Nolan’s formative years in Australia, the exhibition traces his engagement with the places that shaped his distinctive visual language, from St Kilda and the Wimmera to K’gari, Central Australia and the north-eastern Victorian landscapes of the Ned Kelly story. Through shared discussion and visual interpretation, the tour explores Nolan’s engagement with place, myth, history and identity, and how he reshaped perceptions of Australia’s cultural imagination. The program is delivered in Auslan and interpreted into English. This event is part of our Auslan tour program for visitors who are D/deaf or hard of hearing, led by invited artists and guides from the D/deaf community. Meet near the welcome desk in the Naala Nura building. Free with exhibition entry, bookings required
