Nightscapes — Colleen Frances Exhibition: Wednesday 11/11/2026 – Sunday 29/11/2026 Opening celebrations – Friday November 13 from 6pm to 8pm ‘Nightscapes’ is my love letter to the night sky and speaks to how darkness can hold both vastness and intimacy. For me, the hours after dusk reveal a world that feels both infinite and deeply personal. I am drawn to the shifting gradients of deep blues, and the way light reveals itself sparingly across both time and vast distances. This paradox – the coexistence of immensity and closeness – lies at the heart of this exhibition. These paintings are part literal depiction, part emotional landscape. Colours and shapes are true to what exist above us while interpretation helps capture the emotion of standing beneath the night sky looking into something far older and larger than ourselves. I hope each painting offers a place to pause. They are an invitations to remember nights spent looking skyward, to reconnect with what is important, and to rediscover a sense of awe. Nothing offers perspective like a vast night sky. I believe the artworks we choose become part of the way we experience home. For collectors, these works are intended to be lived with as much as viewed. My hope is that each painting becomes more than an object to admire – it becomes a place to return. A window into stillness. A moment of perspective. A lasting reminder that beauty, wonder and connection are always waiting.
