A bazaar of storytelling through art, film, books, zines, preloved clothing, food, music and poetry, raising funds to send direct aid to children and their families facing systemic barriers to education in Iran, Afghanistan and First Nations youth locally. Due to the complex challenges of sending funds into Iran and Afghanistan at present, we will speak in further detail about these 2 organisations and their important work on the night. The local organisation we are raising funds for is NIYEC, the National Indigenous Youth Education Coalition. You can read more about their important work here: www.niyec.com Amuzesh means 'education' in Farsi and Dari, the common theme in the work of all three organisations and our theme of the evening. Come celebrate learning with us through a diverse line up featuring live acoustic musical performances, video art, poetry reading and story telling, alongside a delicious feast of vegan Afghani and Persian food, non-alcoholic Persian summer spritzers, and so much more. This venue is strictly alcohol free, we kindly ask you to respect this policy and will need to remove anyone from the premises who does not. Thank you for your understanding. Entry is a $15 donation, but this event is about bringing community together as much as it is fundraising - no one will be turned away for lack of funds, just talk to us.
