When I’m not working, and not devasted by my also audhd kids, I exercise chasing emotionally unavailable men, but I never settle for the avoidant cause I’m after the psychopathic narcissist. Spiritually, I’m an agnostic Muslim with a hint of atheist Sufism, raised in a Catholic school in a city that was only made it to the news after al Qaeda terrorists became a thing. I am consistently inconsistent. I belly dance while playing the violin, pull off gymnastics moves while serving dinner, and run a business while obsessing over science & social impact. I dread capitalism, but I intend to become a billionaire just so I can launch my own podcast lecturing people on how to live their lives, before writing a book about my newly developed theory about nothing called F** Them! I am a classic victim of the collective bullshit we’ve been fed—because these days, feeling like an imposter is treated as a pathology instead of a legitimate part of the lived human condition. After a much-needed divorce, At 45, I quit my fancy yet soul-crushing, tax-free job in Dubai to reinvent myself and pursue a career in comedy in Melbourne—in a language that isn’t even mine! Plausible, right? Well, now I am happily suffering the aftermath of this beautifully woven, delusional idea, following the road less travelled toward a well-promoted American Dream... except in a surprisingly better temu-version of NYC. This show is my authentically idiosyncratic story, reflecting on what it means to belong when it’s impossible to stay still in an identity you’ve just stitched out of all those poorly formed yet equally disturbed square moulded fabrics.
