Beijing Bikini, Fowl Weather Vein and Remit

Beijing Bikini Featuring members of Garry David and The Baddies + plus ex members of Momos and The Bacchantes. Local inner west Sydney band who are independent both in attitude and creativity. Fowl Weather Vein Original, alternative Sydney band Fowl Weather Vein dish up an original recipe of puréed post-punk, post-blues, post-op crockpot with sides of riled-up sea shanties, and the odd dollop of spag-western retribution. Remit Krautrock and dark-wave meet life's turgid depths in futuristic visions and driving rhythms. Remit formed in early 2023, a post pandemic project that brought vocalist/bassist Jordan Lacey, guitarist Sim Kirkpatrick and drummer Rob Pellegrini together where they jammed in an underground bunker, the location of which shall remain a secret. The trio experimented and explored with the strange concrete environment to discover the Remit sound. The band are influenced by krautrock, dark-wave, funk and life's turgid experiences but bring individual aspects that influence the distinctive Remit sound. Rhythm section Rob and Jordan lock into tight grooves and punchy riffs. Sim's exploration of synth guitar and effects add a unique dimension to the band's sound. Jordan's deep exploratory vocals are informed by broken hearts and modern politics, pushing for meaning in his lyrics that are delivered with force on stage. The trio are experienced musicians who have played in bands for over 20 years. Drummer Robert Pellegrini played in three-piece band Faspee Delay touring nationally in the 1990s. Sim Kirkpatrick played in a gypsy folk band The Monday Project across Melbourne in the 2000s. Jordan Lacey's projects Infinite Ox and hiddensounds gigged across Melbourne in the 2000s with airplay on RRR and ABC Rage, with Bruce Braybrooke on drums (Beautiful Girls). In the 2010s Kirkpatrick/Lacey played in Infinite Ox and Lovely Beast, gigging in Melbourne and regional Victoria. Lacey/Pelligrini played in three-piece experimental rock band Primitive Language performing in Melbourne and live on 3CR radio. Remit have been gigging regularly since mid-2023 across Melbourne. A notable highlight has been supporting Buddhadatta (Japan) on both Australian tours in 2024 and 2025. Also from Japan, Remit have supported, Vongli Bonze and Sister Paul. Remit released their debut album Questions Unanswered in mid-2025. Recorded at Lily Street Studio in Coburg North by Simon Maisch and mastered by the legendary Don Bartley. Remit work with well known film makers including Dirk de Bruyn on Posthuman and Paul Rodgers on My Transformation and Debunker.
