United States l 1987 l English l Comedy/Horror | R18+ Widely hailed as one of horror’s most deranged and inventive achievements, Evil Dead II somehow delivers everything you want from a gore-soaked genre film while packing in an outrageous amount of comedy. The film opens with the sole survivor of the preceding film having no memory of what came before - handing new audiences a free pass into Sam Raimi’s unhinged universe of demons and Deadites. Through gleefully deranged stop-motion effects, disorienting point-of-view shots, and restless handheld camerawork, Ash finds himself trapped in a remote cabin under siege by a houseful of forces from Hell. Named among Empire magazine's 500 Greatest Movies of All Time, Evil Dead II might be the most fun you'll ever have being scared out of your skull. Groovy! Sydney Opera House Presents
