What does real environmental impact look like up close? And what action can the community take? EcoFest Inner West celebrates urban ecology relevant to us inner westies and Sydneysiders, connecting strategies and objectives with the technical and practical action we can all take. Come along and enjoy panels, stalls and speakers from academia, green industry and community, covering: Biodiversity Microclimate Tree canopy Air pollution Waterway health Flood mitigation Native plant community Invasive species management and Neighborhood green infrastructure Including: Alistair Hyde Page - IWC; Bruce Ashley - The Greenway; Elaway Dalby-Ball - Dragonfly Environmental; Fiona Johnson - UNSW; Gwilym Griffiths - Good Canopy Company; Greg Smith - Yama2You; Julie Marler - Phillips Marler; Peter Irga - UTS; Peter Munro - Mudcrabs; Rachel Taylor-Hukins - NSW-DPI. Meet others who share the vision of an environmentally integrated Inner West. Learn which plants thrive, how a bioretention system functions, what’s on track, what’s off kilter, and how we can move the needle. Sunday 27 September, 11am to 3.30pm at Gumbramorra Hall, 142 Addison Road, Marrickville (within Addison Road Community Centre). $10 entry with lunch included (veg & vegan). This event is part of Addi Road's 50th anniversary year, with support from Landcare Australia Bupa Healthy Cities.
