Join internationally acclaimed pianist Simon Tedeschi AM and award-winning clarinettist Oliver Shermacher for an evocative evening celebrating the music of Jewish Australian composers. Featuring works by some of Australia's most beloved and internationally recognised composers including Elena Kats-Chernin AO, Yitzhak Yedid, Arthur Benjamin, Larry Sitsky, and Guy Gross, this intimate recital weaves together rich musical narratives, exploring themes of identity, memory, and heritage through the expressive voices of piano and clarinet. Oliver Shermacher is a multi-award-winning clarinettist known for his virtuosic and imaginative performances. Winner of the 2022 Aeolus International Wind Competition and recipient of the Audience Award, Oliver now lives between Australia and Germany, working as a soloist, teacher and orchestral clarinettist. In Australia, Oliver is a recipient of the Freedman Fellowship, and was a finalist in the ABC Young Performers Award, where he also received the Audience Award. He has appeared as a soloist with the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Vogtlandphilharmonie, Neue Lausitzer Philharmonie and Apex Ensemble, and was Artist in Residence with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, with whom he premiered the Alice Chance Clarinet Concerto. Extraordinary pianist and writer, Simon Tedeschi AM needs little introduction to Camelot audiences... come along for the chance to hear something completely new as Simon and Oliver perform together for the very first time, in concert. Expect the unexpected!
