Mick Thomas has been a staple of Melbourne’s music scene for well over 30 years. Raconteur, troubadour, balladeer and poet, he is best known as the song master of icons Weddings Parties Anything. His band The Roving Commission featuring Squeezebox Wally on Piano Accordion, Ben Franz (The Waifs) on bass, Dave Folley on drums (Tex Perkins) and bright new talent on guitar and vocals, Brooke Taylor with Mick’s unique mix of folk, roots and country and occasional cameo by ex WPA violinist, Jen Anderson. Fresh from another iconic run of Christmas shows at the end of 25’, he returns to the Brunswick Ballroom to celebrate the venue’s birthday and showcase songs from the latest album, GoComeBack but also expect hits from the Roving Commission’s back catalogue as well as a sprinkling of Weddoes classics.
