HALAQA PRESENTS: THE WAR CONTINUES A Special Double Screening by Tahmineh Bahram Join us for an intimate evening of cinema featuring the work of Iranian screenwriter and filmmaker Tahmineh Bahramalian, whose films emerge from Tehran. We will be screening two of Tahmineh’s acclaimed short films, Hunchback (Best Acting Award, ISFA; Special Jury Mention, Persian Film Festival Australia) and Atonement, works that reflect her deep interest in women’s inner lives, memory, violence and resilience. Tahmineh’s broader body of work spans short fiction, documentary and feature screenwriting. Her screenplay for Zalava received the Grand Prize at the Venice International Critics’ Week, and her films have been recognised internationally for their sharp emotional truth and quiet courage. This screening offers Melbourne audiences a rare chance to encounter cinema made under immense constraint, with remarkable clarity and resolve. Date & Time: Wednesday 10 December 2025, 7:00–9:00 PM Location: Dukkana, 99–101 Harding Street, Coburg 3058 Tickets: $15–$50 (pay what you can) Available via Fannan, or at the door via cash or PayID.
