A man, a guitar, a song—Justin takes the format to captivating heights. British-born and Melbourne-based, he has forged a reputation as one of Australia’s most distinctive acoustic guitarists and songwriters. His solo albums Winter Pick and Barefoot Wonderland earned acclaim both here and in the UK, while his third LP Sleeping Like A Maniac sees him colouring his Americana bent with echoes of UK roots, jazz, and what he calls “folk impressionism.” Justin’s playing has been described as “like Leo Kottke and John Fahey on the instrumentals and John Prine on the songs” (fRoots UK), and Australian Guitar Magazine called Sleeping Like A Maniac “a tour de force of songwriting wit and headstrong performance.” The evening will bring Justin’s fearless guitar work and imaginative songs together with Jesse and the band around the table—an open, collaborative setting that makes these shows unique.
