Halaqa x Del-be-Del x Sondos A Night of Stories, Music, and Connection Thursday, 4 December | 7:00 – 10:00 PM (Doors open at 6:00 PM) Halaqa is a gathering, a living circle of art and conversation where stories take shape through music, movement, and film. Formed around the belief that community itself is a work of art, Halaqa brings people together to listen, create, and connect across languages and forms of expression. This edition unfolds within Del-be-Del, a gallery-store devoted to Persian craft and handmade design, in collaboration with Sondos Stories, a fashion and accessories collective that celebrates Iranian identity, culture, and vintage craftsmanship. The evening coincides with a special presentation of handcrafted works by Iranian artists at Del-be-Del, a poetic constellation of objects that speak of light, endurance, and renewal. The night opens with Persian music by Sanaz Saadfar and Setareh Nematolahi, accompanied by Mohammad Mirkarimi and Taha on percussion. The opening segment also includes poetry and spoken word, featuring performances by Taj Aldeeb, Farnaz Shashimi, and Vanessa Estrada, weaving sound and story into a shared moment of reflection. Guests are then invited to move upstairs for three simultaneous sessions, • “Spark a Story” , a short story writing workshop with Laleh Hosseinzadeh • “The Circle of Rhythm” , an introduction to daf and Persian percussion with Mohammad Mirkarimi. Please bring your daf with you. • “A Poetic Struggle” , a short film by Shirin Shakhesi, looping throughout the evening The night continues with live Persian music, followed by a jazz performance by Max König and his band, and concludes with an open jam session, inviting everyone to join with their instruments or voices. This event is a non-profit community event, where art is shared rather than performed, and connection is its true currency. Ticket contributions cover event costs only, with all artists offering their work in the spirit of generosity and community. We gather on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Eastern Kulin Nation. We honour their Elders, past and present, and recognise that every act of creation begins with listening to the land that holds us.
