Stone Lucid is a cross-cultural collaboration between musicians from Contemporary Improvisation and Carnatic traditions. Led by saxophonist Thomas Webster, the group transports listeners on a sonic journey of open, ambient grooves and cerebral melodies. Drawing upon Thomas' research work in South Indian rhythms mixed with contemporary jazz, each piece explores rhythmic and melodic ideas from around the world. The compositions have been inspired by Classical Minimalism, Arabic maqams, Indian ragas, Japanese modes, African rhythms & Electronica.
