In an evening of scientific insights and artistic dreams, we will be joined by astronomer and dark matter researcher Alan Duffy, performer/composer Sophia Brous and sound artist and researcher Joel Stern who will perform (Space) Dream Triptych. Whether you see human existence as singular and exceptional, or as an ephemeral blip in a great void, the question of our role in the Universe is an enduring philosophical mystery. Looking into the depths of space, thinking about the great sweep of cosmic time and delving into the unconscious promises a dizzying ride towards our horizons of philosophical meaning. This event will be hosted by Brigid Hains, editorial director and co-founder of Aeon media. ABOUT SOPHIA CLUB Everyone has a stake in philosophy; its vitality can be drawn out and re-energised through conversation, with each other, and the arts. The Sophia Club creates a space for people to come together, ponder big questions, encounter new perspectives, and appreciate the rich connections between thought, emotions and artistic expression.
