Hypnotics returns for its second edition on July 18th with a very special local lineup bringing some of Melbourne’s finest techno sounds. Join us at 24 Moons, Northcote, as we head north for a night of driving rhythms and hypnotic soundscapes. Expect a carefully curated journey through sound, built for those who like to lose themselves on the dancefloor. Artist spotlight: Aidan Rudd Aidan Rudd is a Naarm (Melbourne) based Hypnotic Techno producer and DJ. Aidan leans into heavy sound design, crafting hypnotic tracks that balance depth with movement. His approach has led to releases on respected labels like Transition, Duplicity, Bipolar Disorder, Obscuur, ASW, Suara, Aktivv, Vibrant Collective, Laburnum, and more. His music has been played and supported by key figures such as Dax J, Chlar, Alarico (and their duo Funk Assault), Richie Hawtin, Amelie Lens, Uberkikz, Future 666, Elli Acula, Caniche, Felicie, Yanamaste, Fjaak, Beau Didier, among others. On stage, Aidan blends deep hypnotic grooves with high energy through layered multi-deck mixing, creating sets that feel immersive and alive. Aidan is carving out a space for himself in the global techno community and sets his eyes firmly on the European scene. Kai Pizer Representing the contemporary Australian underground, electronic music producer and DJ Kai Pizer is recognised for his deep, hypnotic approach to modern techno. His sound fuses driving rhythmic energy with ambient, cinematic textures, creating immersive performances shaped by atmosphere, spatial detail, and long-form tension. An artist dedicated to his sound, Pizer focuses on conceptual integrity and carefully crafted sonic environments. Through this distinctive approach, he has built a strong reputation within underground electronic spaces. With a series of new EPs scheduled for release in the coming months, Kai Pizer is expanding his sonic identity and solidifying his presence as an important new voice in contemporary techno. Kait Xri A selector as diverse as they come, Kait Xri has built a reputation for her unique style and refined taste in spacey, progressive, and gritty techno. Her prowess as a DJ lies in her meticulous approach to blending ambient melodies with bold, beat-driven dance tracks, all while maintaining a humble yet sophisticated timbre. Kait Xri continues to purvey her gritty techno narrative, supporting artists such as Fjaak, Funk Assault, Schacke and SPFDJ. Kait Xri's sharp mixing and eclectic taste ensure there's never a dull moment during her sets. mishLXY mishLXY(she/her) is a Naarm (Melbourne, Australia) DJ known for her thoughtfully curated sets and versatile artistic spectrum. Her dance floor selections consist mainly of deep, minimal progressive house, leftfield techno and polyrhythmic electronica. She has played across Naarm’s underground circuit with appearances alongside Pureblast (FR), DJ G (NYC) with Melbourne Deepcast, Hitam (NL) and Philippa Pacho (DE). She recently came off a peak-time slot at For the Cause Festival. Outside the club, she runs @in.motion_radio on Area3000, spotlighting Asian femme and gender-fluid artists, while her mixes have landed on New Zealand’s Mouthfull Radio, Shanghai’s byyb.radio and Thailand’s Bangkok Community Radio stations, exploring spacey, dub-laced sounds and global soulful digs. Whether opening a room or guiding it deeper, her focus stays on connection with the music, pacing the dancefloor, and letting the music breathe.
