Noodle is an improvised DJ session and ongoing jam between three selectors — Bayu, Bobo, and Toby. Originally from Bandung and Bali, Indonesia, and now based in Naarm, the trio play as a series of tributes: to dance music, to its artists, to its genres, and to the cultures that underpin them. Their sets trace lines through the roots of warm Chicago house, the futuristic mechanics of Detroit techno, and the acid rush of MDMA-era house music; through early-2000s electroclash, dance-punk, and the indie-rave cycle; through minimal and microhouse and their aesthetics of austerity; through UK garage, old and new; and through the heartfelt end-of-night rave anthem — imperfect, euphoric, and emotionally direct. Downstairs, Akane (Osaka), Mas Kato (Surabaya), and DJ Henning (Naarm) take charge, exploring a more accessible version of the same impulse. Drawing on the essence of what unfolds upstairs, they'll be soundtracking arrivals and easing everyone into the night.
