Celebrating 8 Years of free midweek mischief at Section 8! Sounds from the global underground with special guest operators Christopher Port & Simo89 joining resident Darudebuoy. SIMO89 French born and now Melbourne based DJ / Graphic designer / Painter SIMO89 makes his Pangean Nights debut at long last! Simo blends a sun-drenched fusion of unsyncopated jaxx, French-Carribean Zouk and the bright synths of 1980s South African Bubblegum soul. We're excited to see where he steers the ship in his endlessly deep bag of far flung records. CHRISTOPHER PORT A Pangean Nights stalwart and absolute weapon in DJ mode, Christopher Port's musical CV is too long to list. His DJ sets lean into UK garage, with a real emphasis on inventive percussion, off-kilter synths and plenty of chopped-up & pitch-shifted vocal and drum samples. Expect to hear tunes you'll never be able to shazam and will probably blow your dancing socks off. DARUDEBUOY Das me! Humbled to be celebrating 8 years at Section 8 with this little residency headed by Oliver Wigley and myself for most of the decade now! Big houts to Oli in Canberra, sadly missing this one.
