On 11 February 1974, Michael Eugene Archer, better known as D’Angelo, was born. A pioneer of what would later be called “neo-soul,” D’Angelo crafted an uncompromising catalogue of music spanning decades, and for many, changed the trajectory of their lives forever. Remembering D’Angelo: Birthday Celebration is a night dedicated to honouring his life, legacy, and music. On D’Angelo’s birthday, join a 10-piece band of Australia’s finest and most soulful musicians, led by Jonathan Bufalino and special guests: JEROME FARAH LUTHER MICHAELA JAYDE TENTENDO (DJ sets) Come early and stay late with DJ sets from groove wizard Tendendo, spinning D’Angelo, Soulquarian and neo soul classics to keep us moving.
